Grab your hats and your favorite bow tie! It’s time for the greatest two minutes in sports. Join us as we watch the Kentucky Derby and celebrate with southern charm, style and excitement. The party starts at 3pm; horses run at 3:57pm. Bring an appetizer to share.

May 17

The DOCO is one of our favorite, fun food events at SVRC! Members and guests compete to see who can make the best dishes over coals in cast iron cookware. Participants register the day of the event and can prepare as many dishes as they like. There is no entry fee, but participants are expected to share their dishes with dinner attendees. Taste testing and judging follow for those in attendance. Dinner is served around 5:30 and it's $10 per attendee. (No charge for Cook Off participants.) To-go orders are not allowed as dinner attendees act as judges for the contest. Donations for raffle prizes can be given to Jerry Glynn or Missi Bullington. May 31 & June 1

It’s a flea market frenzy in McCloud on May 31 and June 1. This year, the Chamber of Commerce is not only advertising the annual Flea Market, it is putting the word out about all the yard sales in town. SVRC will be on that list, as the clubhouse will be getting a good cleaning and the surplus will be for sale on the front lawn on May 31. As in year’s past, members will have the opportunity to rent a space (fee to be determined) to sell their unwanted items also. This is a great opportunity to declutter your home, find some new treasures, and enjoy the company of other members. More information to come.

June 14

The barn owners invite you to a fun-filled picnic in the barnyard. More info to come.

August 2

Spend the perfect day soaking up the sun and competing with friends in horseshoes, darts, cornhole, and more! Stay tuned for more information.

September 13

SVRC will be taking over the links on September 13th! The annual golf tournament will be happening at the McCloud Golf Club. Beverages for thirsty teams will be available on the course during the nine-hole scramble. For this day, the "clubhouse" will be at the Horsemen's, and participants will be treated to a delicious dinner. More information to come.

Every Thursday

Stop by the clubhouse any Thursday after 4pm and you are likely to see some thirsty Horsemen getting together for happy hour. Sometimes there are five people, sometimes it’s as many as 35. This informal gathering usually involves catching up on the news of the week and sharing a good laugh or two. Check our Facebook page every Thursday to see what’s on the menu for dinner!

Tuesdays @ 10am

The program is low impact, easy on your body and mind, and you can work at your own pace. This is open to adults and teens, members and their guests only. The get-togethers are set for Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10-11am. Those who participate can make a donation to the clubhouse.
